Home Redmed Employee Health Clinic

RedMed, the University Employee Health Clinic, is located on the ground floor of the A. Ray Olpin Student Union Building located at 200 S, Central Campus Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84112. Care at the clinic is provided by College of Nursing Faculty & Staff. Our Nurse Practitioners and Nurses bring clinical expertise in individualized patient care, by assessing and treating work related injuries and other non-emergency medical conditions.

Clinic Hours and Scheduling:

Work-related injuries and illnesses will be seen on a walk-in basis. Based on availability, non-work related injuries and illnesses may also be seen on a walk-in basis or by scheduling an appointment.

Please note the RedMed Clinic is closed daily from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and all University holidays and closure days.

Katie grew up in Madison, WI and moved to Utah in 2001 to attend the University of Utah. After earning undergraduate degrees in both Economics and Political Science, she worked in the legal field for a period of 7 years. Katie returned to school at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, earning her MSN in 2014. In 2016, Katie earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Utah. Since that time, she has worked in a variety of primary care and employee health settings. Katie is passionate about solving medical problems together with her patients. When not working, Katie enjoys spending time with family in the great outdoors.
Carrie Huntsman-Jones, MSN, FNP-BC

Carrie has been an RN since 1995 and she became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2020 during the middle of the pandemic. She has worked for the College of Nursing faculty practice since April of 2021. She can currently be found working two days per week in the RedMed Employee Health Clinic. Carrie has worked in a variety of settings. However, she is particularly passionate about women's health, occupational medicine, pediatrics, and nursing education. She is a certified pediatric nurse. She also works as a sexual assault nurse examiner and has worked in nursing education for over 15 years. Carrie has a BSN from Oregon Health Sciences University, an MSN from the University of Utah, an FNP certificate from University of Massachusetts in Boston, and is expected to graduate with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from New Mexico State University in the Spring of 2023. When she isn't busy with school or work, she enjoys traveling and camping with her husband and 3 children.

Lyndsay Wixom, DNP, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Utah. She works with the College of Nursing in their Faculty Practice which includes RedMed Campus Employee Health, Summit County Health Department, Urban Indian Health Center, and Juvenile Justice Youth Services. Lyndsay has 12 years of nursing experience and earned an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Nursing degree from the University of Utah. As a Registered Nurse, she worked in oncology, medical/surgical, acute care, and assisted living patients with dementia/Alzheimer’s. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2020 from the University of Utah. Lyndsay is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Utah Nurse Practitioners. Lyndsay’s professional interests include family medicine, women’s health, mental health, and urgent care. When she is not caring for patients, she can be found reading, running, walking, hiking, snowboarding, gardening, cooking, making sourdough babies, and spending all the time she can with her husband and two children.

Morgan is originally from Castle Dale, Utah, but spent the majority of her childhood and early adult life in Price, Utah. She started her venture into the Medical field in 2017 when she applied to a phlebotomy school in Murray, Utah and made the move from rural Price to the big city. From there, she worked as a phlebotomist and part-time medical assistant for a family practice in Holladay before switching to work full-time as a Medical Assistant/Practice Manager for an employer-based clinic in Downtown SLC. In January of 2023, Morgan started with the RedMed Clinic as it’s new Patient Services Coordinator. When she isn't at the RedMed Clinic, you can find Morgan with her nose in a book or playing with her adorable, but very sassy, 4-year old daughter.
