Hospital to University Transfer
Benefits When Transferring from UUHC to Campus
This guide explains what happens to your benefits when you transfer from University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics (UUHC) to a Campus position, including what transfers automatically, what requires action, and when changes can be made.
Transfer Timing
Transfer Timing
Transfers from UUHC to Campus are processed manually by the Campus HR Benefits team. Benefit updates occur on the 1st or 16th of the month.
Example
- Transfer date April 2 → Campus benefits begin April 16
- Transfer date April 24 → Campus benefits begin May 1
Your UUHC benefits remain active until your Campus benefits begin, so there is no gap in coverage.
Once your transfer is complete, you will receive an email from AskHR@utah.edu prompting you to log in to the UBenefits Portal and use the Transfer from UUHC to Campus event.
Important: You will have 30 days from the date your Campus benefits begin to review or make benefit changes.
